Why in the world would we want to be the focus of a film now?
In November 2013, we shared our story publicly for the first time—and did so to a packed theatre. We received a standing ovation and were overwhelmed with people thanking us for speaking up.
After so many years of silence, we know that being out is the only way to make positive and lasting change in perceptions and in acceptance of LGBT people. No one should be relegated to the closet for being who they are. No one should have to make the same choices we had to, to protect their lives, their jobs and their families. We hope that sharing some of the challenges we faced over the years will help move full equality forward.
By helping make SURVIVING THE SILENCE: LOVE AND IMPOSSIBLE CHOICES you too can be a part of shifting perceptions and creating change.
